Your Motivation

This is Alex and his two friends. Stewardship Demonstrated!

So this morning I am reminded that to be a faithful steward is to be centered on God and His objectives instead of a preoccupation with self. We need to strive to demonstrate Christlikeness in your own walk. He was fully devoted to doing God's will leaving judgement for God. As I read I Corinthians 4:1-4, the challenge is to give our all to God, to be faithful in all that we do and to wait for God's approval and not man's. If I may paraphrase the verse, " your clear conscience does not make you innocent, only God can tell whether your stewardship is centered on Him or on your self"
What do you think?

E-Updates

Hi Wapendwa,
I hope your week begun well. I am doing great after finishing my monthly financial report. That was a lot of work! I am encouraged though and want to take pride in work. I thank God and would't want to complain about this noble task. What's on your plate this week, I hope that you will take delight in your work and do it as though it were for the Lord himself, this is what the scripture says in Colossians 3:23 "Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men". I have also been going through "Dealing with Self part II" during my quite time. It has been a blessing! Today I read about stewardship and looked at managing my life, material goods, time and abilities as a servant rather than a master. It was humbling to be reminded that everything belongs to God and that we are just privileged servants, given the opportunity to manage. Regarding whatever we may consider as our own wealth, Deuteronomy 8:18 was a clear call to remember the one who gives...."But remember the LORD your God, for it is he who gives you the ability to produce wealth,...." Deuteronomy 18:8.
I am learning a lot and just want to encourage you to look at these materials and share what the Lord is teaching you.
Oh, I forgot to mention this, we had a really good time together this past Sunday, I can't wait for the next E-group lunch! This month our meetings will take place at Alice and Henry's home, Karibuni wote.
Have a blessed week and here are some pictures for those who did not make it.
Amani,
Gideon

Updates from Jerry

Dear Jammuh Saints,

I praise the Lord my God with all my heart for His faithfulness that has been my shield for the eight months that I have been in His service I.D.W.C. The Lord has been good to me through out my service amidst the many challenges I pass through. So far I’m not complaining.

I have experienced a deeper personal walk with the Lord for the past eight months and I’m forever grateful to God for enabling me to be in this Programme. I’m developing some depth in my commitment to God and to ministry and sense my calling to ministry getting certain day by day. Through iServe Africa I've had the opportunity to explore my inner gifting, calling and vocation in Gospel ministry and have developed a deep vision and commitment to ministry through participation in the one year placement in Imara Daima Worship Center. So far, I am very grateful to God for all that He is doing in and through my life here at my placement

Despite the challenges I face, serving God always refreshes my moments and gives me some sense of contentment that usually encourages me to carry on no matter how bumpy the road becomes. God has granted me His grace through all this .He has been teaching me to rely on Him and to trust Him more in all that I do. Being an iServe Africa apprentice can have its pressures occasionally especially when the needs around seem great. Further more raising support from partners and friend has not proven easy. This is when God has often reminded me that it is not about what I can do or have as an individual but what He can do through me if I will only trust and obey. I’ve leant to trust God in both the “wilderness” and the “Canaan” experiences.

After a careful observation of me, our programme coordinator asked me if I would prayerfully consider giving up one more year of ministry volunteer work with an organization called Careforce- U.K because he thought I had a future in ministry. After prayers and consultations from family and friends I took it up and applied. I made it through to the main list and was taken in as one of the apprentices due to start service from early September for one year.
The good news is that I was taken in to serve at Woodland Christian Revival Center in Liverpoolfrom September this year for one year. I believe a year of service with Careforce would enable me gain sufficient cross cultural Experiences and skills and provide an opportunity to explore different areas of ministry that would be helpful for my future ministry involvement in my local church. Furthermore through Careforce I look forward to have a constructive, exiting, inspiring and life changing adventure! However for this to materialize, I'm supposed to raise my visa application fee (£125) and my air ticket of which I’m to confirm the current cost. I really need a lot of help friends and family so as to raise the cost of my international travel. To that effect I seek to ask you to consider supporting me financially towards the same on the fund drive function that i'm still thinking hard on how to go about. If you have ideas on how we can go about this please hit the 'reply all' button and lets get some discussion on this. Please continue to pray that all will go well for me over the coming weeks and months.

Thank you for taking your time to pray and even encourage me as I serve in Gods vineyard. Special thanks to Giddy who sometime back came over to my placement and spent the whole day with me.I felt encouraged so much to soldier on with ministry. However, my greatest challenge still remains raising my financial support while in this programme. I have a personal target of 12,000 per month and 144,000 annually. This money goes to my monthly stipend, training and administrative expenses. May I further humbly plea for your financial support towards my being in this programme. May the Lord enable you to help me raise this amount during the year by giving monthly, quarterly, or through a one time gift.

Finally, I kindly would like to invite you to our iServe Africa Partners Open day which will be held at All Saints Cathedral on 5th June 2010 at 10.00am-1.00pm.Pst. Adah Adoyo will be the Main Speaker. Please come and share with us this special day and get to know what the Lord is doing through iServe Africa and how you can be involved in this great work. Please confirm to me if you’ll be able to make it.

God bless you and do you Good.

In His Hold and Grip.

Careforce UK

Praise the Lord!
Awhile ago i did ask you to pray with me over my next step after my iServe Africa apprenticeship programme and particularly about my plans to serve for another year with Careforce U.K. Well the Lord has been faithful enough to take me through to the main list of the successful candidates who applied this year. I therefore want to say a big thank you to you for having taken your time to pray with me through out the period that i was waiting for the response. Please carry on praying with me over the next steps ahead of me and particularly pray for the Careforce team as they look for a suitable placement for me.
God Bless you.

Many Blessings.
